How To Wear High Heels Pain Free All Day

Header Blog Sept

Have you ever wondered how some women can walk around in high heels all day as if they were born in them? Do your feet hurt after just 5 minutes of wearing high heels? Here are some tips to wear your high heels all day long in an elegant and painless way.

1. Buy the shoes that fit your feet

Shop wisely and always go shoe shopping at the end of the day. Your feet are a bit swollen from walking and at their biggest. Choose a shoe that fit the shape of your foot. Make sure your shoe is just a bit wider than your bare foot.

It is also important to choose the right size when buying high heels. Be aware that different brands can use different sizes.

Not all high heels are the same and how easily you walk depends on choosing the right heels.

Always try on both shoes in the shop and walk around. If they don't feel comfortable immediately, they probably never will.

2. Begin small and build up

Don’t start with 10 cm stilettos if you have never walked in heels before. It’s better to build up and go for higher heels as you get used to them.

There are many different types of heels to choose from, varying in height and shape. By training your feet in lower heels, your ankles will develop the strength they need to walk safely in higher heels.

Start with a wider heel instead of a thin one to keep your balance more easily. Closed shoes are also easier to walk on than open sandals because they give more support to your feet and ankles.

Low Heels

Wedges or platform shoes are the easiest high-top shoes to walk in as the heel is completely attached to the sole. This gives you more balance and comfort. It’s an excellent choice if you want the height of a high heel and not ready yet for stilettos.

3. Break in your heels

Break in your high heels before you wear them for the first time. Breaking them in is important because it makes the shoes more flexible so that they conform to the shape of your feet.

Wear your new high heels inside the house for a day before going outside. This will not only get you used to wearing them, but it will also make your heels less slippery on the bottom as they wear down. Practice all the things you would normally do: walk up and down the stairs, walk on different floor types,…

If your high heels still feel a bit tight, you can spray the inside of your shoes with MISTER MINIT Stretch. This handy spray will soften the material inside your shoe and is available in your nearest MISTER MINIT shop.

4. Give your feet some rest

If you wear high heels, the best thing you can do to avoid pain is to sit down as much as possible! This will give your feet a rest and keep them fresh. Cross your legs, sit up straight and stretch your legs out from the waist up.

Don't take off your high heels, because if your feet get swollen, you'll have trouble getting them on and they will hurt even more.

Heels Resting

If you wear heels to work every day, alternate between different types of shoes, varying in height. This will prevent too much pressure or friction in one particular area and keep your feet healthy.

5. Use insoles for more comfort

For even more comfort and a better fit you can place gel or leather insoles inside your high heels. They can reduce the pressure and give additional support to the front part of your foot or your heel. The can also prevent your foot from slipping forward in your high heeled shoes.
